I'm Dr. Hanmin Gu, and my work is guided by GU (Good Urbanism). My research sits at the intersection of urban planning, spatial data science, real estate, and Urban AI. I study how spatial structures, planning decisions, and public policies shape urban outcomes and dynamics, with a focus on why cities perform unevenly across space and how shocks or interventions generate heterogeneous effects.

Delivered an invited presentation for SPARKCITY’s webinar, titled “Smart City & Innovation City.” The presentation examined the Korean Innovation City Model as a place-based policy and discussed how Innovation Cities can evolve into economic platforms by integrating research, industry, and innovation ecosystems.

Selected for the Sejong Science Fellowship, supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Research Foundation, to lead a five-year research project as Principal Investigator on data-driven urban planning and urban AI, aiming to advance evidence-based urban planning research.
